The 16th edition of the Asia Cup, known as the Asia Cup 2023 or Super 11 Asia Cup due to sponsorship, is set to take place as One Day Internationals (ODIs). Pakistan and Sri Lanka will come together as joint hosts for the tournament, where six teams will compete. The event is scheduled for August and September 2023 and holds the distinction of being the first co-hosted Asia Cup, with four matches planned for Pakistan and the remaining nine to be held in Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka enters the tournament as the defending champions. Notably, this will mark Pakistan's first time hosting the Asia Cup since a significant past incident involving a terrorist attack on the Sri Lanka cricket team led to their evacuation from the country by helicopter. Pakistan's prior hosting of the event was in 2008.
